Join us on 1st October for a private guided tour of The Charterhouse.

The Charterhouse has been an almshouse since 1611, although it dates back to medieval times. It has been a medieval monastery, a grand Tudor mansion and also a school. This history can be explored through the buildings and collections. We will have a private group tour led by a Brother to learn more about this fascinating historical gem hidden in the heart of London.

Travel: Independent travel by train, to Farringdon or Barbican

Accessiblity: 

 ·         The walk from Farringdon Station to The Charterhouse, is 0.3 miles. 

 ·         Entrance to the museum, Chapel and shop is on Charterhouse Square and is step-free and wheelchair accessible. The public areas of the reception, museum display, Chapel, learning centre and cloakroom facilities are fully accessible for wheelchair users and people with limited mobility. There is a lift in the reception area which can be used for visitors to the Great Chamber.

 Anyone requiring additional support should contact Ann Morris.

Schedule for the day:

·         Meet at The Charterhouse Entrance/shop

·         11:00 – Refreshments served in the Learning Centre

·         11:30 – Tour commences

·         13:30 Tour concludes

 The museum, shop and Chapel are open until 4:30pm

Cost:  £25 including refreshments on arrival
